The owner of Cavindew Artistic Designs is a Qualified Primary and Secondary School teacher with a passion for the Creative Arts and a passion for Science. Her artistic talents have consistently been evident throughout her teaching career especially when incorporating the creative arts, MakerSpace and STEM education into her specialty area of Science Teaching. She has also been involved in setting up MakerSpaces in primary school classrooms in both the private and public education sector.
In addition to teaching in educational settings for over 15 years, Emma has also been teaching the creative arts and being involved in community art projects in any spare time she has. Emma has taught Mixed Media Art, Scrapbooking, Card Marking, Art Journalling and Italian Majolica (ceramic painting) for over 8 years. She has experience teaching both adults and children of all ages including students with additional learning needs and students with disabilities.
Emma has created a number of commissioned pieces for customers in the textile arts and has been a key designer for quilts, soft crafts and textile arts for Kaszazz. This has involved designing pieces for workshops and creating detailed patterns and instructions for others to teach these classes.
Emma has created and donated quilts and pillowcases for Australian Defence Force Personnel who are deployed overseas through Aussie Hero Quilts. She coordinated a group of ladies over December/January during the bushfires to make and donate over 300 cool ties for the CFA, RFS and other volunteer groups. She also coordinated a small team in making and filling Christmas stockings for all students at two schools north of Sydney in the Mangrove Mountain area who had lost everything int he Gosper's Mountain bushfire.
She has a bubbly personality and a great sense of humour. She is patient and always willing to go the extra mile for her students.
